Workshop - Principles and Frameworks for Public Health Ethics - CPHA 2011
The NCCHPP collaborated with the Canadian Institutes of Health Research – Institute of Population and Public Health, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and CIHR's Ethics Office to present this workshop during the Canadian Public Health Association's annual conference.
September 2011.  Description.
.

This workshop, entitled "From Theory to Practice: Working Towards Common Principles and Frameworks for Population and Public Health Ethics" was held on June 19, 2011 in Montréal during the CPHA conference.

During this session, participants considered and discussed different frameworks and principles in population and public health ethics and reflected on the implications that different ethical frameworks have in Canada and elsewhere in the World.

Key questions included:
Is it desirable or possible to have a single framework for population and public health ethics, and if so, under what conditions?

What overarching ethical principles should inform population and public health decision-making and intervention?

Who are the key stakeholders to engage in advancing this work?
