The aim of this symposium, organized by the National Collaborating Centre for Environmental Health (NCECH) and the NCCHPP, was to explore:

  • The relationship between health objectives and ways in which planning can contribute positively to community well-being and identify actionable steps toward engaging and working with planners.
  • The barriers that hinder effective partnerships, and conversely, put forward enablers and facilitations toward having planning and public health at the same table.
  • The ways that Indigenous perspectives can be respected and incorporated in health-planning collaborations.

This session gathered experts from planning and public health. Thierno Diallo's presentation focused on bridging planning and public health with Health Impact Assessment.
