We were pleased to be invited to lead a session introducing public health ethics with the incoming Master's of Public Health program class at the University of Waterloo's School of Public Health and Health Systems.
The overall objectives were:
- To offer a brief overview of public health ethics: orientation, approaches and tools.
- To engage in a bit of ethical deliberation, and
- To point students towards additional resources.
The session included an hour of deliberative work on two cases (vaccination and food security) using two ethics frameworks for public health.
