Workshop - Population Mental Health and Wellness Promotion: Discussing Roles for the Public Health Workforce through Multiple Visions - TOPHC 2019
The Centre's Pascale Mantoura participated in a panel to discuss the roles of public health workforce in population mental health and wellness promotion. This panel was held on March 27 2019, at the Ontario Public Health Convention (TOPHC).
March 2019. Description.

For this panel, Pascale joined Brenda Restoule chair of the First Peoples Wellness Circle, Penny Sutcliffe and Shana Calixte from Sudbury Public Health and Districts and Benjamin Leikin from Ottawa Public Health.

During this panel session, participants learned about the processes and work developed by the NCCHPP and the other National Collaborating Centres for Public Health to support competency development for public health in population mental health and wellness promotion and to clarify potential roles of the workforce.

They learned about the expertise coming from the Fist Nations Mental Wellness Continuum Framework and examined how the knowledge and approaches proposed through the Framework can inform public health roles in this field. They will be able to illustrate some roles through two Ontario public health unit practice examples.
