Public health actors are ever more frequently asked to intervene in public policy processes. Public policies can be understood as catalysts of power relations between actors with diverse interests and rationalities that develop and evolve in a given policy field.

In this workshop held on May 15, François Gagnon presented a framework for analyzing the actors who are operating in a policy field. This framework helped participants assess the political acceptability of a particular policy option. This framework allowed participants to, among other things, examine the ways in which actors define the problems and the solutions they opt for.
